Changelog - Major Gameplay Improvements & Quest System!

This update brings huge upgrades to gameplay depth, UI experience, and NPC interactions!

Smarter Combat & Enemies

  • Hostile NPCs now attack the nearest target, not just the player.
  • Low-tier enemies got a buff, stay sharp!
  • NPCs now use items and special combat abilities.
  • Combat now features regeneration mechanics and visible damage indicators.
  • Ammo is now typed and managed with checks and drops, choose your shots wisely!

Dynamic Progression

  • XP and stat upgrades now scale dynamically and exponentially,  progression feels more rewarding (and challenging).
  • Random starting gear is now balanced to keep early runs interesting.

Fully Featured Quest System

  • Introducing the QuestGiver module: NPCs can now offer quests with dialogue options.
  • New quest conditions system allows for more varied and engaging objectives.
  • Quest icons are displayed above NPCs, with better visibility and quest tracking.

UI and Helper Upgrades

  • New helpers for consistent list rendering, scrolling, and resolution scaling.
  • Improved list navigation with a new ListScreen mixin.
  • Quest markers are now always visible when they should be.

Controls

  • Press R to pass your turn and wait, perfect for setting up your next move in combat.

More polish and bugfixes under the hood to make everything feel smoother.
